I
n 2002, Donald Cornforth, MD, and Donald
Fitzgerald, MD, had a vision to bring high-
quality diagnostic imaging to a community
that was outgrowing its current options. Quest
Imaging was founded by these two board-
certified radiologists, who would eventually
build a beautiful facility on Stockdale Highway,
just west of California State University,
Bakersfield. Over the past 10-plus years, Quest
Imaging has fused cutting-edge technology
with exceptional customer service and medi-
cal expertise to create an imaging experience
that is second-to-none in Kern County.
In 2010, Quest Imaging found a perfect partner
in San Joaquin Community Hospital (SJCH).
The merger between the two organizations
enhanced the mission of both health care
providers, strengthening the services provided
to the community.
In 2014, this partnership will be strengthened
even further—and, once again, the local
health care landscape improved—with a sec-
ond location for Quest Imaging in downtown
Bakersfield. The three-story, 60,000-square-
foot facility will be the new next-door neigh-
bor to The AIS Cancer Center at SJCH and
will feature the latest technology available in
diagnostic imaging, including a state-of-the-
art Women’s Breast Center.
Quest will occupy the first floor. Plans for the
additional space will be announced soon.
